Our Story
For the earth we share, the hands that craft, and the home you cherish.
Rooted in India’s ancient craft traditions and inspired by the charm of English countryside living, ECOVEEVE celebrates the time-honoured techniques of intricate block printing and pottery making. These slow, meticulous processes carry the warmth of the past into modern homes.
What began with reusable tote bags has grown into a thoughtfully curated collection of homeware, tableware and travel accessories. Every piece is lovingly crafted by skilled hands to embody the essence of slow and mindful living.
Founded by Tanya Chugh, ECOVEEVE is more than a brand. It’s a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and the simple luxuries that turn a house into a home. Tanya dreams of a world where cultural heritage is not just preserved as a relic of the past, but celebrated as a cherished element of everyday life – woven into our homes, our stories, and the memories we pass down for generations to come.
Sustainability
From chemical-free dyes and recycled water to mindful material consumption and minimal reliance on electricity, our artisans’ time-honoured practices ensure the lowest possible environmental impact. The treasures that emerge from these traditions embody the essence of slow living – designed to be cherished for a lifetime and beyond.
We proudly collaborate with local artisans in Sanganer – a cultural hub in the district of Jaipur – to keep these responsible traditions alive in a contemporary way. These artisans are part of Jaipur Bloc, a collective of companies dedicated to supporting the sustainable production of handcrafted textiles.
Additionally, through our partnership with the Sambhav Foundation, we empower women with tailoring skills and access to necessary equipment, helping them build independent sources of income.
The Art of Block-Printing
Block-printing is a centuries-old craft rooted in the rich textile traditions of India. Each block is patiently carved, then pressed into cloth with careful intention, an act that requires time, steadiness, and devotion.
The process is slow, almost meditative, and every print bears the subtle variations that mark the hand of its maker. In these patterns, history lingers; a living heritage where precision and imperfection entwine, giving fabric a soul that no machine could ever replicate.
Our Founder
For Founder Tanya Chugh, ECOVEEVE is more than a brand, it reflects a life shaped by an ever-evolving sense of home. During the many moves Tanya’s family has made throughout her life, they found solace in filling each new space with art and cultural expressions that carried deep personal meaning.
Growing up in India and later settling in the UK, she became captivated by the charming elegance of English cottages, while her move also deepened her connection to the rich heritage and cultural traditions of her homeland. Tanya draws on her background in fashion and social entrepreneurship to channel her passion for heritage arts and crafts into ECOVEEVE, a brand that helps us connect with history and make our own along the way.
At the heart of the brand is a deep commitment to social impact, stemming from Tanya’s personal experience of a period without income. This challenge fueled her mission to empower women by helping them build their own sources of income through skill development and sustainable employment opportunities.
Tanya dreams of a world where cultural heritage is not just preserved as a relic of the past but celebrated as a cherished element of everyday life – woven into our homes, our stories, and the memories we pass down for generations to come.
